Hi, here is a walkthrough to set up a NIS server under Ubuntu Hardy, because the standard configuration is only for clients. apt-get install nis NIS domain: _be creative_ :-) Then wait till the ypbind search is over (it tries very hard to find a server…) otherwise the package is not completely installed.
